This HMFX takes advantage of MSIE 4.0 Dynamic HTML and will not work in any other browser at the time this was written.

The Site Outliner generates an HTML page that displays an outline of any Web site. The generated page can be used as a table of contents or a sitemap.

The Site Outliner uses http to scan the sites so you need to have a connection to a Web server to make it work.

The outline is displayed as a tree-structure of the links from the specified location. The tree-structure will display up to 10 levels from the root page. Clicking on the folder icons expands (or contracts) the tree-structure to show the sub-folders and HTML pages. Clicking on the page icon will open that page in the browser.

To use the Site Outliner, you must specify the following four parameters:

1. The starting page of the site to be mapped.
2. The image to be used for the page icon.
3. The image to be used for the folder icon.
4. The name of file to be generated. If the file already exists, it will be overwritten.

There are images suitable for the required icons, in the HoTMetaL FX category, Images - Icons , SMALL. Here are two images you may drag into your page to move the files into your project:

After you set the parameters, scan the site by clicking on the "Start Scanning" button.

The program will then scan the site, generate the page and add a link in your current page at the point where you dropped the mouse (8) above.
